Nickel Alloys: High-Performance Materials for Extreme Applications

Nickel-based alloys are engineered for strength, durability, and exceptional performance under extreme conditions. With their combination of corrosion resistance, high-temperature stability, and mechanical reliability, these materials are critical in industries ranging from aerospace and power generation to chemical processing and marine environments.

Characteristics of Nickel Alloys

Nickel alloys offer excellent corrosion resistance, even at elevated temperatures, alongside remarkable strength and durability. Their stability under extreme conditions makes them ideal for demanding applications, while many grades provide good weldability, expanding their versatility in complex assemblies.

Types of Nickel Alloys

  • Nickel-Chromium Alloys – Often marketed under the trade name Inconel, these alloys resist oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures. Commonly used in jet engines, gas turbines, and chemical processing equipment, examples include ASTM A494 CW6MC (Inconel 625) and CY40 (Inconel 600).
  • Nickel-Copper Alloys – Also known by the trade name Monel, these materials excel in resistance to acids and marine environments. At Delta Centrifugal®, we pour several Monel alloys, including M25S (S-Monel), M30C (E-Monel, weldable), and M35-1 (R-Monel, non-weldable). Additionally, we offer chip credit on machined Monel, allowing for reuse of material and sustainable production practices.
  • Nickel-Molybdenum Alloys – Commonly called Hastelloy, these alloys resist stress corrosion cracking, oxidation, and harsh chemicals. Applications include chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and waste treatment. Typical grades include ASTM A494 CW12MW (Hastelloy C or C-276) and N12MV (Hastelloy B).

Delta Centrifugal® is a premier foundry specializing in the manufacture of these complex nickel alloys. Whether you need high-temperature stability, corrosion resistance, or both, our team delivers precision-cast components tailored to your application.
